Job Specification
You will conduct investigations into design related problems on Gas Turbine aero engines; make proposals and project manage the change into service
The issues will mainly be with in-service engines, and could range from health and safety concerns, a component not performing, or as a result of manufacturing problems.
You will normally be working on 2 Modification Packages/Design Changes at any one time, this will involve close liaison with several departments such as manufacturing, validation etc. You will co-ordinate the various specialist areas involved, and in parallel you will monitor the financial impact of the change which includes the cost of the engineering time used and the cost of the manufacturing changes. It will also be your responsibility to ensure that timescales are adhered to.
In addition to this you will have to present the design changes to large groups of representatives from different areas of the business.
The design content of this role will make up only approximately 20% of the duties involved. Person Specification
A project engineer with a design background or a design engineer with project experience would be ideally suited to this position. You need to be commercially aware and able to defend yourself in response to technical questions at meetings and presentations.

Must have a design background - CADDS5/Unigraphics preferred
