ROLE:IC Layout Engineer
SALARY:£25-35k + bens
LOCATION: Essex
Working for a world-leader in the design, development and supply of low-power analogue, digital and mixed-signal semiconductors for systems worldwide, this is a hands on role for a motivated IC Engineer with the ability to perform fullcustom, mixed-signal IC layout. Candidates will be familiar with (mainly Cadence based) design and layout tools and checking software. As part of a multi-site engineering team you will liaise with analogue, RF and digital chip designers working with a range of CMOS and SiGe technologies.

Responsibilities: Preparation of full-custom IC layouts for a wide range of chips. Submission of layout data to foundries. Maintenance of design and layout libraries. The ability to use a methodical approach to layout and checking and able to work under pressure to meet marketing and foundry deadlines, delivering working solutions in a timely manner.

Education/Skills/Experience/Attributes required: Degree in Physics or Electronic Engineering disciplines, including a knowledge of semiconductor physics and analogue circuit behaviour. Proven track record of full-custom, mixed-signal IC layout, preferably gained within the semiconductor industry through the use of CAD tools such as Nanoencounter, Virtuoso, Diva, Hercules and Assura. A working knowledge of Nanoencounter would be a distinct advantage.
