Description
At BAE Systems Military Air Solutions, were responsible for producing some of the most advanced military aircraft the world has ever seen. Like the F-35 Lightning II the first (and currently only) stealthy supersonic, multi-role fighter plane. And the Herti family of Unmanned Air Vehicles, which can soar thousands of feet in the air and take thermal images of the terrain below all without a pilot on board.
As a group, we have a hand in every stage of an aircrafts development. This starts with an initial brief and carries on through a variety of design, build and test stages, before we deliver the final product. That level of involvement means we can boast a wide range of capabilities, including systems integration, manufacturing, and repair and upgrade. Weve even produced a number of military training programmes. Our customer base spans more than 30 countries worldwide. And we currently employ around 10,000 people.
Due to ongoing development activities and expanding in-service support demands on programmes, there is a growing, long-term need for Human Factors skills. As part of a highly motivated team providing Human Factors consultancy on Military Air Solutions projects you will normally require a degree in Human Factors Engineering or a related engineering subject, or have gained Human Factors experience in the Aerospace or another relevant defence industry. Human Factors engineering covers a wide range of activities involved with the design, development, test, installation, delivery and support to the customer of systems and services throughout their life cycle. Your Human Factors experience should have been gained in one or more of the following areas:
•System Concepts and Design Engineering encompassing: Requirements Capture, Functional/ Behavioural Design; Concept Definition & Trade-Off, Design Analysis, including System Safety and Hazard Analysis; Workload Prediction
•Preliminary Design Development encompassing: Design Prototyping, End User Assessment.
•Integrated Design Assessment: Formal Integrated Design Assessment
•System Test and Qualification covering: System Qualification and Verification; Test Planning Preparation and Verification.
A desire to explore new opportunities combined with excellent communication skills are key within this role and you will be required to work effectively within a multi-skilled, integrated team environment.
