Description
The candidate is responsible for the activities listed below: * Prepare required homologation documentation for all car lines and markets (Europe and ROW), for all European Whole Vehicle Type Approvals, national type approvals, system approvals and component approvals according to EEC-, ECE- as well as national requirements. * Compile technical data, description sheets and homologation weight list (overall vehicle, various trim levels as well as optional equipment).
HOMOLOGATION ENGINEER
For vehicles designed in Europe, prepare partial description sheets required for homologation in all countries, except North America. * Plan, initiate, perform and monitor all homologation tests. Apply the possibility of virtual testing where possible and agree with the appropriate engineering area and technical service. * Monitor and reference all existing and pending legal requirements applicable for homologation according to European-, ECE- and National requirements. Support lobby work for the implementation of virtual testing to ensure this tool is officially included in appropriate legislation.
Interface continuously with Engineering Areas, Supervisors, and Managers gathering information and reaching decisions. Clarify discrepancies and provide information related to homologation, certification, and technical data and give support for program planning.
Interface continuously with homologation agencies and authorities (TUV, KBA, VCA, SNCH, INTA, etc) n all homologation- and certification issues. Interface continuously with the representatives and Sales Companies responding to all enquiries related to homologation, certification, technical data and weights.
Skills Required:
* Tactfulness and empathy are essential. * Good perceptiveness. * Ability to negotiate. * Ability to work well in a team environment * Willingness to travel in support of product launches and team meetings throughout European Locations.
Experience Required:
* Relevant experience in vehicle design and testing * Relevant experience in working for one of the homologation agencies or authorities (TUV, KBA, etc) or in working in a similar function in the automotive industry. * Computer skills including word processing skills and experience in other Microsoft products.
Education Required:
* Engineering Degree or equivalent degree. * Knowledge and experience in vehicle design and testing. * Fully cognizant of the legal requirements.
