THE JOB

Health, Safety and Environmental Leader

We currently have a requirement for an experienced HSE Leader with strong management skills to support our clients EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) Regions.

Working from home the role will involve traveling 50% of the time, mainly in Europe with some travel in Africa and the Middle East, developing and implementing effective HSE management systems and solutions for the region.

A Large part of the role will also involve managing the HSE team and influencing the upper management team

The role requires an experienced HSE Leader who has worked in the service sector and understanding of HSE regulations in Europe, Middle East or Africa

Description

1.Demonstrated senior level of ability to develop and implement effective Health, Safety, and Environmental management systems and solutions
2. maintain regulatory compliance and improve overall HSE culture.
3. Responsible for leading all related HSE activities to support the EMEA regions.
4. Actively collaborate and participate as a valued member of the Leadership Team to provide HSE guidance and leadership.
5. Provide guidance, technical support and coordinate all activities of the Regional HSE Leaders. 6. Responsible for tactical HSE programs and process at Project and Services sites, while working closely with other HSE Leaders.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

•Manage Regional HSE Leaders
•Partners with business leaders, employees and customers to continuously improve the HSE culture, HSE awareness and accountability systems. And focuses on proactive processes to prevent adverse events.
•Deploy ACS Risk Assessment Tool and control plans.
•Oversees project teams in regions. Collaborates with team and assures completion of major project tasks. Utilizes and supports use of project management tools and techniques (i.e. Six Sigma).
•Develops and assures deployment of HSE procedures, training, internal and external communications in concert with Corporate procedures and regulatory requirements.
•Supports and assures thorough incident investigation activities, root cause analysis, corrective action identification and closure. Works closely with leaders to measure and communicate HSE performance. Monitors trends and champions injury/illness reduction.

Qualifications

Education:
•B.S. in Health, Safety or Environment or related field required. Advanced degree a plus.
•Recognized certification in safety, health, or environmental field a plus.

Skills & Competencies:
•Direct people management experience of technical professionals.
•Experience of HSE experience in progressively increasing responsibility desired.
•Experience working with service, facilities maintenance, or construction industries desired.
•Background working in the Petrochemical Industry with knowledge of construction and elements of Process Safety Management (PSM) to include; compliance with PSM elements training, contractor, Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR), Hot Work, Management of Change (MOC), Incident Investigation and Emergency Planning and Response (EPR).
•Must be able to read and understand technical and non-technical information for use in everyday decision-making processes.
•Ability to lead, motivate and influence others to achieve HSE objectives with limited support staff is critical.
•Thorough understanding of HSE regulatory requirements required.
•Mature judgment and decision-making ability, with strategic and tactical HSE experience.
•Experience conducting and leading internal audits and implementing HSE management systems.
•Strong computer, project management, and organizational skills required.
•Personal initiative and global mindset a must. 50% overnight travel probable.

Basic Salary up to £60k plus additional benefits
