Excellent opportunity for an experienced HSE professional to work for a major UK group
Working on an exciting waste management project in conjuction with Wakefield Metropolitan District Council the successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:
1. Day to Day management of the facilities' compliance requirement in conjunction with the relevant facility manager.
2. Liaise professional with the Environment Agency on a regular basis with the proper administration of the Waste Management Licences and Implementation of the Working Plans for each site.
3. Liaise with the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) for statutory reporting and remediation measures.
4. Develop and maintain HSE management systems as appropriate
5. Identify HSE training needs and deploy and coordinate training as required
6. Keep accurate and timely records for waste management and licensing activities.
7. Write, publish and proactively manage the Health & Safety and the implementation of the Company Heath & Safety Plan on sites.
8. Where necessary, liaise with outside regulatory bodies EG the Planning Authority, HSE, Emergency services.
9. Where required to do so, deal with concerns from members of the public, record complaints and comments concerning the management of the site.
10. Manage the collection of information to comply with company Health & Safety policy
11. Maintain a detailed list and library of legislation and compliance documentation for reference of audit and other contract submission
12. Take part in company training and induction where required to do so.
13. To undertake any other reasonable task requested by the line manager

Qualifications
Environmental or related qualification to degree standard
H&S qualification Nebosh Diploma or equivalent
Experience
Health & Safety experience in an industrial setting
Practical experience, Environmental enforcement or dealing effectively with a government regulator
