A leading telecoms engineer is seeking an experienced hardware/electronics engineer to work on their post engineering team investigating failure issues and developing products to produce long term solutions.

This role is working in the PE (Post Engineering) team as the Hardware representative. This team looks after the handsets which have completed the design phase and are in production. The role involves investigating field failure issues with a view to finding long term design solutions. It also looks at issues affecting the production yield to ensure that the quality of the handset is maintained. In addition there are issues of component obsolescence due to the long production runs of handsets, which need to be managed. They would work closely with the mechanical and software members of the PE team.

We are looking for someone with extensive BB experience who wishes to take on this role of sole responsibility for the Hardware issues in Production. The role will require a good business awareness when making recommendations for changes as production and customer experience are directly affected.
BB design experience of mobile handsets is essential for this role. A good appreciation of the RF design is desirable. They need to work with minimal supervision and to be able to prioritise between multiple tasks on different handsets. Good problem solving skills and good communication are essential for working in this team environment.
