A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Group Manager, Gas Turbine System Modelling and Simulation to join the Power division of one of the world leaders in transport and energy infrastructure.
The Power Division, based in the beautiful town of Baden, Switzerland, is a large and well-established company specialising in electricity generation equipment and services. Through the development of advanced public transport and cleaner electric power production, they are helping to address some of the key issues that face the planet today.
As Group Manager, you will be responsible for the design, development, integration, testing, and validation of full scope dynamic models of gas turbines, auxiliary and electrical systems. You will also manage the implementation and maintenance of software-in-loop and hardware-in-loop simulation environments and monitor the delivery of gas turbine dynamic models for grid stability studies. You will provide consistent technical guidance across projects, initiating, coordinating, and reviewing solutions for key technical issues and for technology development projects. In addition, you will supervise support and engine dynamic requirements, verify corporate, departmental, and group standards, ensure the application of concerning processes, quality assurance and tools and identify and meet resource and technology development needs.
Qualified to degree level (preferably PhD) in mechanical, process, electrical, or control engineering, you will have a thorough knowledge of modeling and simulation and substantial experience in a gas turbine-related environment, preferably with process controls. You will also have system engineering experience and project or team management experience.

An understanding of gas turbine performances and operation concepts as well as knowledge of thermodynamics and process control techniques is essential. You will have programming skills in C/C++, MATLAB/Simulink, and/or Fortran. An open-minded and flexible team player with strong communication and motivational skills, you will be able to set priorities and make decisions. Some knowledge of German would be advantageous.
German language classes will be on offer at an onsite language school and a willingness to learn is essential.
