Description
Required by a world leading company of casting and manufacturing copper-alloy strip located in Birmingham. The company produces a variety of copper alloys such as Bronze, Leaded Nickel Silver and Cu-Ni-Sn alloys.
They are looking for an ambitious, talented and creative engineer to join their motivated team.
The role is to work in the technical department together with the production to optimise and improve the manufacturing processes from casting material to finish strip.

Responsibilities include:
1. Conducting plant and laboratory investigations aimed at improving process performance and products properties.
2. Provide technical support to the production by investigating and improving production processes.
3. Assist in establishing and updating quality control practices.
4. Preparation of detailed technical reports.
Requirements:
1. Degree in Metallurgy/Materials Science/Manufacturing/Mechanical or Engineering required. A minimum of 3 years experience preferred.
2. Should have a broad background in material science, metallography, materials testing, equipment inspection and failure analysis.
3. Knowledge of copper alloys and manufacturing processes such as casting, rolling and annealing are preferred.
4. Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently on multiple complex projects are desirable.
5. Computer skills are required. Current software programs will be used on a daily basis.
6. Ability to organise and schedule work based upon priorities
