Our client is currently looking for a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to embark upon a graduate training scheme.
OPERATIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Engineers are responsible for the following aspects of work produced by the project team under their control.

OPERATIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Engineers are responsible for the following aspects of work produced by the project team under their control.
- Technical correctness and accuracy
- Timing in accordance with programme requirements
- The content in accordance with agreed scope of work
- The monitoring of changes to the agreed scope
- Quality Assurance and control
- Manpower requirements
- Man-hour monitoring and control
- Use of correct standards and procedures.
General functions of Engineers include, but are not limited to:
- Health & Safety (see separate documents)
- Preparation of estimates
- Site visits
- Attendance at courses etc.
- Assistance with the training of apprentices, students and new starters
- Reporting to Project Engineers and Senior Project Engineers
- Assessment of project staff.
Specific duties associated with project work include, but are not limited to:
- Preparation of equipment specifications
- Performing engineering calculations
- Checking of all documentation produced by the project team, suppliers or sub-contractors
- Developing overall design to meet the agreed specification
- Planning and controlling work content of project team
- Review of supplier/sub-contractor information
- Assistance with design reviews
- Independent checking of design, calculations etc. prepared by others
- Inspection and testing
- Assistance with maintenance of project filing system
- Assistance with control of material and equipment purchasing
- Liaison with other disciplines/contractors etc.
- Attendance at technical meetings
- Assistance with site supervision and commissioning.
Starting Salary will be in the region of £18,000 increasing to £19,500 after a 12 week probationary period. Other benefits will become available as the graduate progresses through the training program
