Description

Our client manufacturers complex high precision cast/machined airfoils fitted to gas turbines used in power generation and aircraft propulsion. They have the immediate requirement for a Manufacturing Supervisor, to work in their Blade Machining Facility (BMF). The Manufacturing Supervisor will manage the day to day activities of a manufacturing cell in the BMF, through a team of Team Leaders.

The Manufacturing Supervisor will manage the day to day activities of a manufacturing cell in the BMF, through a team of Team Leaders. This fantastic opportunity may suit a Graduate seeking a way to enhance upon and broaden their natural leadership skills.

Role Overview:

To manage the day to day activities of a manufacturing cell in the Blade Machining Facility through a team of team leaders to ensure that World Class standards are achieved on sales, variable costs, scrap and non conformance, schedule adherence, housekeeping and H&S. The successful candidate will need to be highly committed, strong willed, able to work in a highly pressurised environment, ability to compile and achieve demanding targets, will be an excellent communicator and a natural leader. The role will involve taking a lead in liaison with all support departments.


Personal Requirements:

•Degree or equivalent qualification in relevant discipline, i.e Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace etc
•Knowledge of modern manufacturing techniques is required
•Additional knowledge of machining or mechanical engineering would be an advantage, but not essential
•Strong leadership skills an ability to demonstrate management capability is essential
•Candidates must be strong-willed, and able to work in highly pressurised environments
•A good level of computer literacy is essential
•Experience having held a position of management or leadership would be strongly advantageous
