Description
A Geo-environmental/geotechnical specialist is required to join the Environmental team in our clients Manchester office.
The successful individual will form part of the busy geo-environmental team in a vibrant office with plenty of scope to develop their career.
Supervision of environmental and geotechnical site investigations and management of sub-contractors will form key elements of the role.

Able to log both soil and rock to BS 5930;
Communicate effectively with clients and contractors;
Compile factual and interpretative reports;
Able to supervise installation of and monitor on site installations;

Astute purchasing and procurement.
Qualifications:
A graduate engineer qualified to BSc (Hons) level in Geology, Engineering Geology, Civil engineering or a relevant environmental science discipline is required.
Personal Qualities:
Out going, self motivated, ambitious team player with the ability to work on their own;
Reliable and responsible.
Experience:
Relevant post graduation experience, ideally experienced in the following areas:
Desk studies;
Logging soils and rocks to BS5930;
SI design and site management in the UK;
Knowledge of current practice and legislation governing the investigation and assessment of contaminated land;
Knowledge of site investigation procedures and practice for geotechnical/civil engineering purposes;
Knowledge of basic soil mechanics;
Instrumentation installation and monitoring;
Sampling protocols;
Use or knowledge of Holebase III;
Factual reporting;
Financial awareness;
Basic interpretative reporting.
