An Immediate opportunity has arisen within the Outage Section of our clients Technical Support Group. Which consists of dedicated professionals who can provide multi-disciplined teams for large and small engineering projects through out the power industry, backed up by a large and extensive workshop facility at Ferrybridge.
The Outage Section has a history of successfully completing a large number of Steam and Gas Turbine outages internally and for external Customers. We strive to deliver safely, on time, within budget and to high quality standards.
The Outage Section teams travel extensively throughout the UK and Overseas working on large turbo-generators, CCGTs, Hydro, CHP plants and power plant work including Balance of Plant and C.W. Systems.
JOB SPECIFICATION
The successful candidate will:
•Have a sound engineering background in both air and hydrogen cooled large generators
•Have a proven ability in the overhaul and repair of large generators both on site and in works.
•Have a sound understanding of Quality control systems.
•To be the generator expert within the site projects section.
•The development of an in house generator overhaul service within TSG.
•Preparation of tenders including planning, pricing and work scope methodology.
•To specify and oversee all aspects of generator inspection, overhaul and repair.
•Management of site projects staff and subcontractors to deliver a first class generator overhaul service.
•Liaison with other generator specialists within the company to provide engineering solutions.
•Ensure that Quality and safety systems are adequate and procedures adhered to and maintained to retain ISO9001 certification.
•Assist with the development of the Business plan and Budgets and ensure constant monitoring of project performance.
•Carry out staff reviews on a regular basis and ensure all staff have a Performance Development Plan.
•Liaison with Internal Power Stations and external business developers to agree project work scope and potential work scope for 1 5 years ahead
•The provision of engineering support to the TSG Ferrybridge technical section and a proactive approach to engineering solutions.
