GENERAL SALES MANAGER

We are seeking a Sales Manager who will be a key member of the Senior Commercial Management Team controlling and developing short and long term future strategy. The Commercial department has three legs- Sales, Bids proposals and Marketing. The General Sales manager will be responsible for the sales team.
You will develop, manage and grow revenue streams in line with the business for both the Workshops and P&T departments, as well as securing internal / external work into the business through utilising personnel skills and those of your team. You will be responsible for ensuring sales targets are met and a ROS is per financial criteria, as well as assisting and directing the customer into developing a technical scope that will utilise the skills and services of the business.
Your principal accountabilities will include managing, controlling and developing a team which is capable of delivering the pre contract commercial activities of the business in the industries and markets outlined in the business plan, ensuring your team obtain and process, suitable ITTs from these industries and ensuring that all ITTs are reviewed (Pre Post) to ensure the best technical solutions have / were offered to the customer.
The Sales Manager will also be required to continue to develop the customer base both in the UK and overseas that can utilise the services that the business offers. In particular, markets such Steel and Nuclear, Cement, need dedicated focus and exploited. In your work you should promote a high level of technical ability and offer integrated technical solutions that enables a structured sales strategy and rolling forecast to be identified for these industries.
To succeed as Sales Manager you should be qualified to degree level or equivalent, ideally in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA would be desirable, but is not essential.

You should have extensive Sales, Marketing, Commercial Negotiations, and Engineering experience which should be from a wide variety of market sectors and industries.
