Description

A General Manager (Service) is required by a global, market leading manufacturer of consumer electronics, including Printers, TV, DVD, Audio Visual, Display Solutions, Digital Camera's and Mobile Phones.

The purpose of the job is to manage their entire after sales service operation and to devise strategies that ensure the companies level of service is commensurate with their brand position.

Main Responsibilities:
Contract approval and drafting.
Continuous benchmarking of after sales service.
Ensure that after sales service complies with legal requirements.
Negotiate service options with key accounts.
Ensure that excessive service compensation claims are avoided.
Service performance in accordance with HQ objectives.
Overall cost control.
Attend and present at senior management meetings.
Devise service strategies.
Staff management.

Essential Skills:
Degree level qualified or equivalent.
At least 5 years experience in service operations.
At least 5 years senior management experience.
MS Office proficient.
Formal management qualification MBA (or equivalent) would be desirable.
Tenacious approach to problem solving.
Able to multi task.
First class negotiation and presentation skills.
Demonstrable track record of commercial service negotiations with industry leaders.
Commercial awareness of the marketplace.
Professional business leader.

Desirable Skills:
SAP experience.
Technical qualifications.
Knowledge of consumer legislation.
Knowledge of quality management and auditing.
Financial awareness.
Attention to detail.
Has worked in a multicultural environment.
Prepared to challenge with status quo.
Good people skills.
