Fuel Domain V&V Application & Audit Engineer

The starting point for the process development and audit activities encompassed within this role is the corporate Requirements-based Engineering process. Requirements and design are managed through key Requirement and Design documents with some key data held in requirements tool. Validation and Verification is performed against these documents and is specified by the Requirement/Design owners and stakeholders. The processes used for this will be developed with the assistance and facilitation of the job-holder, and the application of the process will be audited by the job-holder.

Roles and Responsibilities
The jobholder will be a member of the Fuel Systems Domain in the Systems Centre of Competence (CoC). The Domain Line Manager will be the Group Leader, Fuel Systems Lean Management (EYUIL) reporting to the Head of Performance Integrity Department. Technical approval and support will be provided from Performance and Integrity department.

Tasks to be Carried Out
He/She will:
Work with, and develop processes, strategy and reporting mechanisms for RBE implementation and V&V activities with input from the requirements and design lead engineers.
Organise and/or deliver training in methods and tools.
Provide assistance to CMIT and Fuel Domain, in selection and deployment of appropriate system engineering tools in support of the development process.
Carry out audits for CoC and encourage prioritised action.
Support the lead engineers on each programme in the following activities:

Process Development
Support and training for the process, method and tool for Requirements Management and V&V within the

Fuel domain.
Liase with DOORS team to ensure that Requirements database tool is configured to support the process. This to include metrics/reports generation from tool to track progress.
Ensure that Requirements workshops are run to enable engineers to elicit capture and progress Requirements through the lifecycle.
Facilitation of lifecycle management of requirements - Reviews and Configuration Management.
Co-ordination with suppliers and partners to configuration manage the requirements interface.
Optimization of the verification activities across the various verification "means": i.e. the modelling/simulation platforms and specialized system and sub-system test and development rigs.

Audit and Monitoring Activities
Ensure that the V&V Plan is in place and be responsible for successive issues.
Manage/facilitate V&V aspects of System-level Requirements reviews.
Monitor V&V activities, participating in reviews, assess completeness and contribute to risk mitigation management, ensuring that all processes are followed.
Produce validation status data - including validation summaries as directed by project management.
Manage the evolving Design and Product verification matrices.
Monitor all verification activities - specifically manage and summarise all results from the various verification means.
Liase with Configuration Management to ensure V&V activities and results relate to the successive project baselines, and progressive delivery of system and equipment items - for example, software build standard, associated test regime and the continuing status reporting as directed by project management.
Auditing of Supplier's V&V plans and resultant activities.

Profile
The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills, as a minimum:

Skills and Abilities
Experience of aerospace processes related to system design, test and integration
Proven ability to manage technical tasks to time and budget.
Familiarity with Fuel System development, preferably within an aerospace environment.
Familiarity with Aerospace recommended practice: ARP4754 & directive ABD200
Excellent reporting and communication skills - must be able to deliver presentations to engineering teams.

Ability to travel internationally
