Description

To gain and deploy expertise in the range of avionics tasks to support the product development of the Fuel Measurement and Management System for various aircraft.

Tasks shall include but not be limited to:
Specification writing and technical review of system level requirements and interfaces, involvement with Suppliers in the implementation of these requirements, and the verification of the product.
Support to production of programme/ development/ certification/ maturity/ management plans and resource estimates.
Liaison with various groups e.g. non-Fuel design teams, Technical Publications, Flight Test, Safety, Chief Engineer's team, Programme Management team, Airworthiness, Customer Support, MAP office, Procurement etc.
Creation of problem reports and liaison with the associated equipment supplier to ensure issues encountered during either rig testing, ground testing, flight testing or in service are correctly recorded and tracked through to successful change implementation.
Support to rig and aircraft ground and flight testing, writing of test definitions, tracking of tests and analysis of test data.
Utilise a range of modelling tools (either commercial off the shelf or written in specific computer languages) running under both Unix and NT environments in support of the design.
Conduct all tasks in line with configuration control, project and System Centre procedures/directives and best practices.

All of the above tasks will require the jobholder to undertake travel to sites across Europe, occasionally for periods of up to a week. In time you will be expected to be the sole representative for some meetings and joint working activities. The role will require the ability to work effectively in a trans-national team.

There is a strong customer focus to the job, the job holder needs to understand and agree both formal and informal requirements for any particular task, report progress in a timely and comprehensive manner, attend and present at design reviews and deliver technical reports to be used by the aircraft projects.

HND/HNC and proven experience in an engineering discipline.
Familiarity with Systems Engineering processes.
Experience of producing Technical reports and making presentations on technical subjects.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Familiarity with Windows operating system & Microsoft Office.

The following skills are desirable:
Familiarity with Fuel System development.
Familiarity with Configuration Management.
Experience working with Suppliers.
Experience with Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow.

Training will be provided in the use of tools where needed.
