Based within the Vehicle Dynamics and Analysis Group, the Fuel Economy & Acceleration Performance Design Engineer will:
Support the Target Setting Process using In-house analysis software to predict Fuel Economy, CO2 and Acceleration figures.
Liaise with component design sections such Powertrain, Chassis, Aerodynamics, etc and plan benchmarking activities
Background & Experience
The Fuel Economy & Acceleration Performance Analysis Engineer needs to have an appreciation of what effects the Fuel Economy (CO2) in vehicles, such as Powertrain, aerodynamics, tyres, vehicle weight etc.
Candidates must have:
A Research background
An appreciation of engines - i.e. calibration (basic level), key components of engine, testing methods
Good technical capability Excellent Microsoft Excel skills Be rational and analytical
The ideal candidate will have experience of vehicle dynamics or research, powertrain, fuel, analysis skills and could be a Graduate engineer with a relevant engineering degree, coupled with around 2 years industry experience with a "Desire to design and shape the vehicles performances"
Experience of AVL Cruise & Drive would be beneficial or Adams, Simulink or Matlab
Minimum Education Required
Bachelors Degree
