Description
•Prioritise all team activities and allocate tasks/duties to team members ensuring targets and plans are met on time and within budget.
My client is a worldwide leader in the manufacture of hi-tech and machined aircraft engine and airframe parts. The business has an established reputation as one of the premier suppliers within the industry and is the world's largest producer of rotating components for aircraft engines.
Forge Team Leader (temp contract 6 months)
General Tasks/Responsibilities:
•Prioritise all team activities and allocate tasks/duties to team members ensuring targets and plans are met on time and within budget.
•Duties within the forge could include any of the following (depending on the skills matrix):
oHammer driving
oCrane, slinging, manipulator and fork lift truck driving
oPress setting, observing and fettling
oInspection
oHousekeeping and asset care
•Help identify problems within the departments and encourage problem solving activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
•Ensure that quality, cost and delivery are continually being improved.
•Liaise with maintenance on preventative maintenance programme compilation and management.
•Identify training needs and develop and implement training plans.
•Ensure team compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental Regulations and good housekeeping practices.
•Aid effective two-way communications, including conducting monthly team brief, toolbox talks and liaison with internal and external customers.
•Assist in the successful introduction of new products.
Candidates should be organised, assertive, decisive and have the confidence and enthusiasm to drive the business forward. Good communication skills are essential, alongside an aptitude for problem solving and computer literacy. The new team leader needs to be hands on, supportive, positive and versatile.
Remuneration:
Team Leader allowance = £1,164.18 and forge allowance = £695.63
Salary per annum = £18,694.11 plus shift allowance of £2,117.96 per annum
Shifts = 7.00am 3.00pm and 3.00pm 11.00pm (1 week on each)
