Our client is now looking for a Fleet Reliability Team Engineer to be responsible for first line fault diagnosis, effective planning, management and delivery of engineering and maintenance solutions to turbine and turbine related plant and equipment. In so doing they will assist the team in meeting operational and financial targets, and to deliver an overall contribution to Energy Branch performance.
Principal accountabilities of the role will include:
•Support, contribute to and maintain the health, safety and welfare of self and others
•Actively contribute to the management of the Fleet Reliability Turbine Team
•First line fault identification and diagnosis followed by appropriate repairs and maintenance procedures
•Provision of technical expert support to Production colleagues
•Plant area responsibility for West Burton Turbine Team mechanical plant
•Operate and control of budgets (OPEX and CAPEX) >£2m per annum
•Organise resources, either EDF Energy and/or contract as required to facilitate emergency plant repairs
•Complex technical project and contract management, including management of contractors
•Seeking alternative methods to improve standards and implementing changes
•Development of staff through CFP process
•Direct supervision of Turbine Team multi-skilled craft persons
•Challenge current thinking and processes to seek alternative methods to continuously improve standards
•Support and deliver selected Integrity Team projects including annual outages.
The post holder reports to the Reliability Turbine Team Leader, who is a member of the Generation Management team, and who reports directly to the Reliability Manager.
The role requires flexibility to work within any element of the Integrity and Reliability teams and at any Power Station within the fleet. You will work closely with the production staff as well as with other Reliability and Integrity colleagues. Reasonable training and development will be available to meet the changing business needs.
With a mechanically-biased engineering HNC qualification or equivalent, you will have significant experience of a full range of duties in mechanical maintenance in a heavy engineering environment as well as experience in managing contracts, including conducting negotiations and delivering high value project works. You should be competent in budget management, including planning and have a good knowledge of modern maintenance management techniques.
A good theoretical and practical knowledge of turbine and turbine auxiliary mechanical systems as well as a thorough understanding of relevant engineering good practices is essential. In addition to this a NEBOSH or equivalent safety qualification would be desirable.
