Fire Safety Consultant - Nationwide
Our Client is a multi-disciplinary Design Consultancy servicing the civil and structural engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering, environmental services, town planning, quantity surveying and project management sectors.
As a result of this continued success our Client is now seeking to recruit experienced Fire Consultants for their offices nationwide
Reporting to the Associate Director, you will work within a team of Engineers and Technicians in detailed fire safety design. You will be involved in the preparation of Fire Safety certificate applications for a range of building use as well as use of numerical methods of fire growth and smoke modelling.
Depending on your level of experience you will be required to act as office project manager on a number of projects. You will liaise with clients, contractors, local authorities, architects and other design team members working to tight deadlines. You will carry out fire safety surveys of buildings / assessments of plans and preparation of Technical reports for clients. You will ensure all drawings, reports and calculations prepared for the project are following the QA checking procedures, update the project plan during the project and complete the site visit risk assessment form and any other necessary QA form applicable to the project.
The ideal candidate will be Degree qualified in Fire Technology with 2-3 years experience in a similar position ideally chartered or working toward Chartership status.
You should have a good knowledge, experience and competency in the areas of design and associated legislative requirements, experience of range of building solutions and projects. You should have the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Excellent communication skills are pre-requisite for this position. Good computer skills and in particular CAD / modelling software are also a requirement.
