SCOPE OF ROLE
•Business Management support to the Head of Design and Operations Manager.
•Engineering Project Control
•This role will be part of the Engineering Operations Team
REMARKS & MAJOR PROBLEMS TO BE SOLVED IN THE POSITION
•Assist the Engineering Operations Manager to integrate, monitor and control the Engineering activities within the Engineering Wing CoE team.
•Provide strong financial and resource management.
•Provide direct project management support to Engineering Leads, Engineering Project Managers, Functional Leads and Head of Specific Design to enable them to monitor and control the Engineering activities.
•The role operates within a dynamic engineering environment and requires understanding of the issues associated with operating across multifunctional teams operating within a matrix organisation
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
Financial & Resource Management
•Maintain financial tracking tool and visual management system.
•Maintain AOP assumptions pack and programme Agreement Letters.
•Ensure robust reporting of financial risks and opportunities to ensure accurate forecasts can be made.
•Review spend across various tasks and projects to highlight areas of concern and ensure corrective action is taken.
•Assist in the management of resource requirements.
•Maintain visibility of internal and sub-contact engineering resource and ensure effective utilisation across all Engineering projects and tasks.
•Support and monitor various resource management activities (PDRs, development plans and workshops, resource transfers, overtime management).
Project Control
•Ensure all internal work is covered by a Statement of Work.
•Ensure all subcontract work is covered by Purchase Order and is managed in accordance with (Engineering Subcontract Management).
•Budget and cost control.
Other Activities
•Provide ad-hoc business and project support to the Head of Design and Operations Manager as required.
•Support Operations Manager in the deployment of TWE initiatives (e.g. Lean Engineering/Continuous Improvement)
•Liaison with programme team as required.
MAJOR END RESULTS
•TWE finances understood, in control and effectively managed within budget and resource constraints.
•Robust project definition and framework for project execution and clear definition of all deliverables, acceptance criteria and KPI.
•Adequate control and monitoring to facilitate the planning of any corrective action in a timely manner.
•Clear reporting and communication to stakeholders.
SKILLS / COMPETANCIES
•Good all-round Project and Business Management Skills encompassing Cost / Resources /Subcontract Management / Risk / Planning
•Excel user
•Proficient in the use of Word, PowerPoint
•Good people skills and the ability to expedite tasks in a firm and diplomatic manner.
•Able to exercise appropriate discretion/manage commercially sensitive data.
•Applicants should be educated to A-Level standard or equivalent, and an HNC/HND in Business / Engineering / IT Discipline would be an advantage.
•Professional Qualifications in business or project management would be advantageous
•A proven level of competence in project management, preferably in an aerospace/high integrity engineering environment.
