My Prestigious London based client require a Fibre Optic and Electrical Component Engineer to join the Component Engineering Department which specifies and qualifies a range of high reliability electronic, opto-electronic and optical components.
My Prestigious London based client require a Fibre Optic and Electrical Component Engineer to join the Component Engineering Department which specifies and qualifies a range of high reliability electronic, opto-electronic and optical components.
Responsibilities
Reporting to Component Engineering Director.
Evaluate component designs and manufacturing processes to eradicate potential reliability hazards and ensure robustness.
Conduct technical audits of supplier's manufacturing process and ensure timely closure of any corrective actions.
Prepare specifications for components in consultation with ASN equipment design teams.
Define and manage several component development and qualification programmes.
Write qualification test specifications and reports and critically review supplier's related reports.
Maintain close liaison with the supplier's technical team and with ASN Purchasing and Supplier Quality Department.
Help identify future component designs, technologies and potential component suppliers.
The Person
The successful candidate will have a background in optics, electronics or opto-electronics. Component manufacturing experience would be beneficial but it is not essential. A degree level education in science, engineering or similar and some experience of managing supplier relationships.
Strong self-motivation and confidence to make decisions are necessary. Must be Microsoft Office literate and have good communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Current suppliers are base in Asia, USA and Europe so willingness to travel occasionally is expected, a full driving licence and current passport will be required.
