An excellent role for a Facilities Engineer based in Essex has now arisen. As a Facilities Engineer, you will provide advice to site staff on technical issues associated with the plant and facilities located on site. This is a trainee position for first line management and provides a development opportunity for promotion to the site manager position. You will provide stand-in day to day management of the blending facility including the supervision of technical and office/administration staff and provide input to the appraisal of administration and technical staff. You will represent the staff on the refinery operations committee and resolve local issues associated with any shared services supplied by the refinery. You will also be required to provide technical leadership with respect to the implementation of Industry, Legal and Group Standards by establishing effective communications with the Engineering Authority and to the safe operation, repair and maintenance of the blending facility. You will be required to provide advice to other GFT staff regarding the technical capabilities of the blending plant.

You will be required to implement and test agreed emergency response procedures and implement safely working practices and participate in sharing best practice with other petroleum industry and sites. Working with senior staff to implement a management of change system, you will ensure that all non-routine work is properly risk assessed and authorised. You will work with the Site Manager to ensure continuing ISO 9000 and ISO 14001 quality accreditation and to implement a program of continuous improvement. You will be required to lead the development and implementation of the routine maintenance program for all blending and associated equipment and select competent contractors to carry out the defined maintenance program. You will work with the Site Manager to agree budgets on an annual basis and to control spend against the set budgets whilst complying with all legal requirements associated with blending operations.
Ideally qualified to HNC/degree level or equivalent in an Engineering discipline, you will have experience of design processes in plant and petroleum processes. Experience from the Fuels Industry would be advantageous.

This role is permanent, however contract applications will also be considered.
