An Immediate opportunity has arisen for the position of Estimator in the Proposals Department.
The TSG workshop facilities offer light to heavy machining including CNC operations, specialist and general fitting, balancing of rotating plant, grit blasting and NDT covering a complete spectrum of services demanded of power generation plant and similar engineering industries. These services are offered to both internal and external third party clients.
The role will suit applicants who have past experience with particular regard to either working on or estimating work for turbine/rotating plant.
Job Specification:
The role will involve:
•Working as part of a small team of estimators, supporting the Workshop Production Section and Outage section, reporting to the TSG Lead Estimator.
•To provide a complete estimating service for all work associated with the TSG Workshop facilities for both internal and external customers, but with particular regard to turbine/rotating plant. This will include technical estimating and commercial activities with interfaces to both internal and external organisations.
•Development of sub-contractor capabilities where necessary to improve capacity during seasonal peaks.
•Provide multi-repair options from quick fix repair to completely reverse engineered new parts, with all refurbishments being to as new or fully engineered modifications.
Person Specification
The successful applicant should have:
•Extensive hands-on, practical craft/engineering experience.
•Previous estimating experience would be desirable but is not essential.
•Have a recognised relevant craft/engineering qualification and be highly motivated with good team working and communication skills
•Good numerical, commercial awareness and IT skills are an essential asset.
•The personality and ability to sell the above services to existing and potential new clients and present the salient points of the estimate to TSG and other Managers.
•Full training would be given to the successful applicant.
