Engineering Technician (vehicle) Technician is required to work in Gillingham for an Automotive manufacturing company.
We are looking for an Vehicle Engineering Technician to work for an Automotive manufacturing company based in Gillingham, Kent.
Your job function will be to provide a fitting, manufacturing and maintenance service in the Technical Centre: under direction to perform varied and skilled tasks in the technician job category and to perform other related duties as required.
Your main roles will include:
Stripping, rebuilding and modifying various types of diesel engines
Fitting various fuel injection equipment to engine, including pumps, injectors, low pressure fuel systems and high pressure common rail systems
Maintaining various test vehicle including, servicing, fitting instrumentation and vehicle modifications
Designing and manufacturing of complex fabricated components using Gas, MIG, TIG and Plasma cutting and welding equipment
You must have the following skills/qualifications:
Served a recognised vehicle maintenance technician apprenticeship:
Vehicle maintenance and repair levels 2 and 3 on light vehicles
Auto electrical experience required to diagnose faults using a variety of testing equipment
Educated to City and Guilds/NVQ level 3
Sound mechanical aptitude to support qualifications and experience
Computer literate, a reasonable level of MS office experience required
A high degree of motivation
A clean driving licence is also important
The salary is between £19,000 - £21,000 per annum depending on experience.
You will be working 37 hours per week. Mon - Thurs 08:00 - 16:30 and Fri 08:00 - 13:00.
You must be flexible as you may be required to work on a double day shift on a rotation basis (shift allowance will be paid as extra).
