THe role of Engineering Standards Superintendent requires extensive experience in a senior Marine Engineering role is essential.

The Engineering Standards Superintendent will report to the Chief Engineering Superintendent, the Engineering Standards Superintendent will work as part of a high performing team of technical professionals to support the vessel Performance Teams in delivering operational excellence across the organisations directly managed fleet of crude, product and chemical tankers, gas carriers and coastal vessels. The role requires the development of a close relationship with the vessel class co-ordinators to ensure the implementation of consistent standards across the Shipping fleet.
Key accountabilities Ensure current Engineering Operating Practices are correct, up to date, safe, and align with Statutory, Class and in line with the Integrity Management standards.
Review of Engineering Quality Management System including review of all change requests and introduction of new procedures and standards through use of the appropriate methodology.
Development of standardised operating engineering practices to provide continuous improvement across the fleet whilst setting standards for Main and Auxiliary machinery Performance Monitoring and trending by exception.
Collation and distribution of Manufacturers' Service Letters and Operational Bulletins whilst ensuring that all operational and maintenance issues are identified and incorporated into the planned maintenance system.
Utilisation of the computerised maintenance management systems to enhance a criticality priorised, reliability focused and condition based maintenance management regime.
Essential criteria & qualifications Qualified to Class One Marine Engineering standard or equivalent.
Extensive experience in a senior Marine Engineering role.
Experience as shore based Superintendent.
Experience of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems.
Proven track record of working to budget and timelines.
Self motivated with the proven ability to use initiative to make key decisions.
Strong influencing, communications and interpersonal skills.
Project management experience and good knowledge of Management of Change process.
Desirable criteria & qualifications Steam and Motor seagoing experience
LNG/LPG experience
New build experience
Proven analytical and problem solving skills.
Strong track record in HSSE leadership.
Experience of coaching and developing team
Membership of a professional engineering body
Project Management experience
Computer Literate with skillset to suit role.
