Engineering Specialist Emissions

They are committed to an expansion programme throughout 2007 and beyond that includes the acquisition of a wide range of engineering specialists within: Mechanical Engineering, CAE, Performance & Emissions, Electronics, Global Engine Development and Aftertreatment.
The Emission System Application team is responsible for executing the NPI process to meet customer needs for performance, emissions, reliability and durability and to coordinate activities with the Emission Systems Team comprised of technical specialists and design support personnel to meet Tier 4 program deadlines, product cost targets and quality requirements.
The Role:
You will be working in close coordination with the current Applications teams, who retain the overall commercial relationship with our customers
Responsible for leadership of the Tier 4 Aftertreatment installation in machines
Supply VoC information to the project team, and more importantly lead the VoB discussions with the customer. VoB includes difficult conversation like the need for the customers to work to very strict installation design principles, and complete validation programmes in a timely fashion
This position will require residency at various Machine Facilities for significant periods during their design and validation phases, significant travel should be expected
Customers will look to you as the centre of knowledge on Aftertreatment and Tier 4 issues
Customers will challenge you on every aspect of this technology and the need for our very strict design and validation standards
Requirements:
Educated to minimum of Engineering Degree or equivalent
Minimum of 6 years experience in design, testing or research
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely in writing and presentations as well as with suppliers and internal/external customers
Demonstrated ability to interact effectively in multi-disciplined, multi-cultural CPPD team environment consisting of designers, industrial designers, test engineers, purchasing, product support, and product safety representatives
Excellent customer interface skills and business focus
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
Process development focused
