ENGINEERING MANAGER
OIL STORAGE TERMINAL
BASED ESSEX
ATTRACTIVE PACKAGE SUBJECT TO EXPERIENCE
Our client, with a 300,000m oil storage capacity and deep water facilities, is now looking to recruit an Engineering Manager due to the impending retirement of the current post holder. The successful candidate will implement engineering expertise to manage the terminals existing engineering operations, as well as help develop, design, cost and manage a £5-£6 million engineering investment programme onsite.
Principal responsibilities will include the following:
•Plan, design, commission development projects/ major overhauls as determined by the business
•Develop effective working relationships with site operations teams in order to develop cross skill development.
•Improve terminal operational efficiencies.
•Be responsible for the implementation and operation of terminal technical control systems.
•Interpret and implement any end requirements of legislation that will affect terminal operations.
•Look to improve terminal operations, within the environment of high risk as associated by the products handled.
•Supervise contractors to ensure compliance with project definitions, both Health & Safety-wise as well as specification and cost.
•Ensure Engineering works comply with legislation, national, international, client standards, and any codes of practice and recommendations.
•Present projects to management.
Ideally you will be a degree qualified Mechanical or Chemical Engineer with Project Management experience and a background in terminal operations. A working knowledge of codes of practice and standards as well as of Storage Tanks, pipe-work design and fabrication would be desirable.
You should have good communication skills and will need to be a team player who is comfortable working with a small management team.
