Description
Engineering Inspector required for a leading consultancy involved in the luxury Yacht market. The candidate will be based at a clients yard in Plymouth.
Engineering Inspector required for a leading consultancy involved in the luxury Yacht market. The candidate will be based at a clients yard in Plymouth.
The candidate will be a successful project manager with inspection experience within the marine market.
Key responsibilities:
- To act as on site representative for our client in relation to all engineering issues,
- To maintain accurate records of all inspections carried out,
- To maintain accurate records of all noted defects and advise in writing to the Builders representative,
- Assist the Builder where required in finding acceptable solutions to technical problems,
- Liaise with the Classification society and Flag State Surveyors,
- Hold regular meetings on progress and technical issues with the builders representatives and provide minutes in writing to our client,
- Maintain a daily diary of all events pertaining to the project,
- Maintain an on site record and documentation control system mirroring and in accordance with that of the client office system,
- Record any health and safety issues in relation to the project that may affect the inspector in the course of his duties,
- Assist and advise the owners crew on technical issues,
- Provide a monthly written report to out client outlining production progress and other events associated with the project,
- Advise and liaise with our client on any technical problems or issues that arise.
Technical responsibilities:
- Carry out all mechanical and electrical inspections associated with the Yacht,
- Where required by the builder the inspector is to agree and approve the installation of all equipment and systems,
- Carry out inspections of equipment as they arrive on the builders premises to verify appropriate storage arrangements have been made,
- Accept on the owners behalf any items of owner supplies and ensure they are correctly and safely stored.
- Approve any minor changes to technical drawings.
