Matchtech are currently recruiting on behalf of one of the leading suppliers to the process engineering industry for an experienced engineering buyer who can become a major part of their production process.
The purpose of this role is to provide a world class procurement service for Process Equipment organisation with full responsibility for the co-ordination and introduction of global procurement initiatives towards the achievement of planned annual material saving/goals. Manage a corporate strategic sourcing initiative to pool and leverage collective purchasing spend, drive cost efficiencies and develop long term reliable suppliers both in the UK and worldwide.
MAIN DUTIES
1. Introduce and implement global corporate purchasing initiatives in order to achieve significant material cost savings to the organization
2. Effectively manage the long term relationship between the organization and Uk and overseas based suppliers.
3. Establish effective supply chain management techniques within the group, working with minimum guidance to track materials/products from the supplier and through the organization in an efficient and cost effective manner.
4. Identify potential resourcing and outsourcing quote packages both in the UK and abroad.
5. Manage and monitor the supplier network in order to continually improve delivery and cost performance.
6. Regularly support the management team on strategic resourcing initiatives including savings and supplier performance metrics.
7. Continually benchmark purchasing procedures and systems with world class organisations to implement appropriate improvements.
8. Fully participate in the running of the manufacturing facilities at Newbury, Brixworth, Worksop and Glasgow and to assist in strategic initiatives and specific projects.
9.Perform all duties commensurate with the position as requested by the General Manager in the best interests of the company.
