Finite Element Analysts
The individual will be part of a team executing gearbox and driveline-related design and NVH consultancy projects under the direction of the Application Team Leaders and Engineering Manager. This will involve using specialist software and reporting/presenting results to project leaders and directly to customers. You will also be expected to lead the use of FE tools in our clients varied engineering consultancy projects by carrying out the work themselves and overseeing the work being carried out by colleagues. Static linear, non-linear contact, dynamic (time domain and frequency domain) and fatigue calculations need to be carried out and experience in as many of these fields as possible is desirable.
In addition to FE analysis, there will be the opportunity to learn to use our clients world-leading transmission analysis tool and learn new technologies such as multi-body dynamics, gear and bearing design and analysis. Experience in these fields would be a bonus.
Successful candidates will have a degree in Engineering or relevant degree which included a heavy emphasis on Engineering or Mathematics. Upper Second, Masters or PhD's are an advantage.
NVH Engineering Analysts
The individual will be part of a team executing gearbox and driveline-related NVH consultancy projects under the direction of the NVH Team Leader and Engineering Manager. This will involve using specialist software and reporting/presenting results to project leaders and directly to customers. You will also be expected to lead the transition of Multi-Body Dynamic modelling capability from R&D into the Engineering department, as well as supporting the sales and business development teams by providing technical assistance.
The successful candidate will have experience in mechanical vibration and acoustic analysis in a consultancy environment. be a problem solver with a strong analytical bias and have knowledge of real-world acoustic and vibration engineering design. A proven record in successfully managing small-medium internal and external consultancy projects is also necessary.
You will have knowledge of rotating machinery and gearbox dynamics, as well as general vibration and acoustic theory and multi-body dynamic modeling.
