Cummins Turbo Technologies is the worlds largest manufacturer of turbochargers for the medium-heavy duty diesel engines market. Situated in Huddersfield, we currently have a new vacancy, through expansion, for an experienced aerodynamicist / turbomachinery designer to join in our existing design team.

Situated in Huddersfield, we currently have a new vacancy, through expansion, for an exp aerodynamicist / turbomachinery designer to join in our existing design team. This engineering role is responsible for the design, analysis and testing of turbocharger aerodynamic components in support of current products, new product introduction and development of new technology. You will be expected to work as part of a team and communicate at all levels within the company. A further requirement will be to provide support for the development of new design and analysis techniques. This position would suit an engineer with a turbomachinery design background.
Key Responsibilities:
• Aerodynamic and mechanical design of the air handling components of the turbochargers, involving the design of compressor and turbine wheels, turbine and compressor covers
• Taking information and developing technical specification
• Design new component and follow through to performance approval of the production parts
• Work as part of a team and communicate at all levels within the company
Support the development of new design and analysis techniques
Essential Skills
• Degree (or equivalent) in an Engineering Science
• Good understanding of aerodynamics, thermodynamics and general engineering concepts.
• Knowledge of PC software packages desirable knowledge of Finite Element (FE) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) packages desirable.
• Turbomachinery design background
