Working within the Feature Group of the powertrain controls department you will be responsible for the design, specification, integration, test and acceptance aspects of software functions within the engine management system. The Systems Engineer position does not involve software development or coding (other than Matlab / Simulink) but an appreciation of software development procedures and techniques is an advantage. Skills Required: Tasks: Specification of system functionality and preparation of requirements documentation including definition of: ideal behaviour, error states, diagnostic requirements and development of validation test documentation. Conduct validation testing, and sign off functional design. System troubleshooting and defect reporting Review supplier implementation and test methodologies
Perform technical peer reviews. Support software development and validation through the construction of representative Matlab/Simulink simulation models Skills Preferred: Proven track record of system design and implementation
Knowledge of systems design methodologies and tools. Practical experience of Matlab/Simulink model generation
Works well under pressure and capable of working with minimal supervision. Able to interact with a varying set of customers both internal and external. Experience in an automotive environment an advantage.
Experience Required: Graduates with a relevant first degree and some initial industrial experience will also be considered. Education Required: Relevant Degree, in particular Mechanical, Electronic and Automotive Engineering
