Engine Test Technician required for on-going contract in Shoreham-By-Sea. MUST be flexible with working hours.

We are currently looking for and Engine Test technician to work shifts in Shoreham-By-Sea.

For this position we are looking for someone with a knowledge of engines, however basic with some hands on vehicle experience who can be flexible with working hours as the facility on site runs 24/7 365 days a year.

As such duties will typically include:
Preparation of test equipment to meet requirements
Test sequence programming and test set-up using control systems
Engine fault diagnosis and resolution including use of client specific engine diagnostic systems
Mechanical engine build support
Completion of engine service tasks
Engine installation
Resolution of test bed & test equipment faults including liaison with other support departments as necessary
1st level quality check of all test data

Candidates would be required to work to a shift pattern made of early, late and night shifts. 3 months of the earlies/lates rotating to 4 on 4 off nights.

Early Shift - 07:00 hrs to 15:00 hrs
Late Shift - 14:00 hrs to 22:00 hrs
Night Shift are 20:45 hrs to 07:30 hrs making each shift 10 hours
and 45 minutes in duration.

The rota runs 7 days a week 365 days a year inclusive of weekends and bank holidays.

The hours of work for each shift are detailed below making each shift 8 hours in duration.

Early Shift - 07:00 hrs to 15:00 hrs
Late Shift - 14:00 hrs to 22:00 hrs

Night Shift

The night shift is based on a 4 on 4 off rota where the individual works 4 shifts then has 4
days off.


Education

GCSE: Maths, English and Science Grade C+ or HNC/HND in automotive subjects are desirable but not essential depending on other relevant experience


Qualities/Experience

Successful applicants will likely be:

Self motivated & enthusiastic
Able to demonstrate a basic understanding of how an engine works
Practically oriented team players
Have a flexible approach to working hours and full willingness to work specified shift rota (including nights)
Capable of working with minimal supervision
Engine testing experience is not essential but a background in the automotive industry or strong personal interest in would be advantageous

£11.18 paye or £13.89 LTD
