Embedded Software Engineer - Cambridgeshire
As a member of the GPS software R & D team, the successful applicant will act as a key contributor to complex embedded projects. He/she will participate in the development of GPS product reference designs and in their integration into handheld platforms such as mobile phones and PDAs.
Qualifications
University degree or similar in electrical engineering, computer science or other engineering or physical sciences discipline
Skills
Essential:
3+ years of C programming language
3+ years of embedded SW development experience
Embedded RTOS experience, preferably on a relevant platform e.g. PND, mobile phone
Full software project lifecycle: Requirements capture, design, implementation, debug and test
Plus at least two of the following:
Experience of serial device drivers
Experience of serial communications protocols (UART, SPI, I2C)
Experience of hand-held, low power application development
GPS / LBS experience
Experience of cellular handset development, particularly location services (A-GPS etc.)
Experience of PC application development
Experience of SVN
Measures of Performance
Consistent ability to deliver quality solutions within agreed deadlines
Software coherence, design-for-test and robustness
