SERVICE ENGINEER - CENTRAL ESSEX BASE TO £35000
Our clients a 3rd party maintenance and service company, supporting a variety of engine room based control/monitoring systems are currently seeking a Service and Commissioning Engineer. You will need to be an excellent electronics engineer who is able to fault find and repair to pcb level on plc's. A "can do" attitude who is prepared and able to work with minimum supervision, and supervise other staff. The prospects of world wide travel, at short notice is inevitable. Salary Negotiable and excellent prospects.
Duties will be varied:
Working with minimum supervision and often with basic knowledge about the product, you will repair, service and maintain a wide variety of controls used for engine and propulsion monitoring
Able to fault find to board level
Calibrate equipment
Test both the input and output from the sensors
Program PLCs
Basic knowledge of Mechanical engineering
Liaise with customer, at engineering level and also management
Occasional supervision of staff.
Candidates should have served a recognised apprenticeship, be qualified to HNC standard and posess a through up-to-date knowledge of electronics preferably with experience in the PLC field.
Mechanical aptitude would be a definite advantage. Pneumatic training given
Good communication skills are essential as our engineers are required to work both on their own and in a team, with regular customer contact.
Candidates must be prepared to travel at short notice in the UK and occasionally overseas for periods ranging from a few days to several weeks.
