Description: Reporting to the Manager - Energy Solutions Business Technical Support Team with responsibility for worldwide service support of the Power Generation Gas line of High Horse Power engines and Gensets.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibility for electronics support, especially in the area of genset electrical systems and controls and power plant support to project companies, distributors and customers.
Support team responsibility for the total value package sold to customers. Packages will include gas and diesel engine driven gensets, associated controls and may also include full cogeneration recovery. Applications will vary from site to site and may include multiset installations, with remote monitoring systems
Responsibility for parts strategy, tool design, training materials preparation, and distributor enabling.
Liaise with UK engineering and service teams presenting opportunity for international travel. Also working with the Group Leader, based in the US, for direction and training support on controls strategy.
Liaise between end-user customer, the Distribution network, project companies and factory.
Provide technical input for service training and documentation for powerplant cogeneration electronics and electrical systems.
Work in cross-functional teams to provide design review, FMEA, and hazard analysis input for the service group.
Visit installations to provide high level of expertise in trouble shooting, faultfinding and ensuring that issues are reported back.
Essential Skills: BSc/MSc degree preferred in electronics / electrical engineering.
Knowledge of Electrical / Electronics control systems, ideally in Powergen equipment business,
Previous Support/Service channel experience desirable.
Diesel and/or Gas Engine knowledge.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Willingness to travel (requirement - approximately 30% of working time).
