We are currently looking to recruit an Electronics Engineer to assist in the development of new security products by undertaking research, design and production, utilising appropriate software and electronic equipment.
Principal Accountabilities:
• Design, develop, install, operate and maintain electronic equipment as directed for business requirements, involving producing details of specifications and outline designs.
• Design to circuit level, assemble and test electronic circuits, ensuring they are fit for purpose and meet business specifications.
• Ensure that a product will work with devices developed by others and will perform consistently in specified operating environments.
• Assemble components to form electrical and electronic systems, ensuring compatibility and minimising electrical interference and following defined development processes.
• Software programming using assembler and/or C.
• Digital communications.
• Provide after-sales service, including help lines, for users who experience problems with equipment.
• Maintain and repair equipment, changing components or printed circuit boards as appropriate.
• Awareness of health and safety and compliance with relevant regulations.
Nature and Scope:
The Communication / Electronics Engineer is a position that reports to the Technical Director. The main requirements of the role are to develop, design, assemble and test security electronic systems.
The job holder will be required to work on a project through all stages: from the initial brief for a concept; through the design and development stage; to the testing of one or more prototypes; and through to final manufacture and implementation of a new product or system. Follow up technical advice will also be required to be provided as and when appropriate.
The Engineer will be required to work alone, as well as in collaboration with other members of the Company in being able to effectively carry out their job role. He/she will need to demonstrate analytical and problem solving techniques and be able to test theoretical designs.
A requirement of the job holder is to use appropriate computing software and technical equipment and communications.
