Electronics Design Engineers are now required at this leading company in LED Technology to be responsible for the design and development of Electronic drive circuitry for the companys LED based product lines. This is a key role in the company and reporting to the Development Manager you will work as part of a team from product conception to successful operation in the hands of the customer.
As Electronic Design Engineer your responsibilities will include the design and Development of electronic drivers for LED solid-state lighting, indication and signaling applications. You will work closely with optical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers to bring quality product quickly to market. You will undertake the analysis of research data and proposed product specifications to determine feasibility of product proposal. You will also work with outside suppliers to select the best solution and components for the products; directing and coordinating manufacturing or building of prototype products. You will plan and develop experimental test programs, as well as undertake the analysis of test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications. You will use computer assisted engineering and design software to perform design tasks.
The successful candidate will be educated to HNC/degree level in a relevant discipline, an excellent team player with strong communication and documentation skills. You will have a thorough understanding of the requirements to successfully develop products to specification and to tight deadlines. Experience with the design and development of LED Lighting, LED Signals or General Lighting within an ISO 9001:2000 environment would be desirable.
The role requires specialist knowledge embracing circuit analysis and layout software such as P-CAD, PSPICE, ORCAD.

You will need knowledge of Compact AC/DC, DC/DC switching power supplies, constant voltage and constant current input/output power supplies. You will also require experience of interfacing with Traffic Light controllers; magnetics including transformer and EMI filter design and field troubleshooting and failure analysis. Knowledge of Microprocessors and communication protocols (RS485) would be a plus. Your skills shall enable you to provide an authoritative and professional interface between the company, its customers and suppliers regarding design related issues
