Electronics Design Engineer - Staffordshire
The successful candidate must be able to assume responsibility for existing and future design; to this end they must possess a significant amount of demonstrable relevant electronics design experience, having been involved in the full product design lifecycle.
Essential requirements: Experience in both digital and analogue design. Experience in microcontroller based hardware design (8 and 16 bit architectures). Experience of embedded software design.
Desirable requirements: Knowledge of product standard requirements (EMC, LVD etc). Knowledge of thermal control electronics. Experience of embedded PCs and their operating systems. Project management skills. Experience of an instrumentation design and manufacturing environment.
Main functions are:
1. Design, development and support of bespoke hardware platforms for new instruments.
2. Support and further development of existing bespoke hardware.
3. To take a major role in structured system testing, including application software.
4. To author design and customer documentation.
General candidate attributes
Ability to meet with customers, experts and sales and marketing staff in order to derive specifications and establish technical requirements for development.
Willingness to travel both within the UK and occasionally abroad.
