Electronics & Controls Test Engineer

Engine Technologies Europe has responsibility for developing technology to support future product needs. Many exciting technologies are being developed to support future engine products including ultra low exhaust emission technologies, high efficiency powertrains and future low Carbon Power System Technologies.
The Role:
The role of engine test engineer with electronics and controls expertise will focus on the development of engine system technology for future exhaust emission standards as well as high efficiency Powertrain concepts
Will be responsible for supporting engine tests. This will include specifying and overseeing the build of engine test variants, including the electronics hardware for the tests and setting up control systems for new hardware sets (turbochargers, active aftertreatment components etc).
Will also be involved in data analysis and establishing the next steps in the research programs
Will work closely with colleagues in other business Units to ensure smooth integration of technologies into the companys programs
Will evaluate new concepts; communicate results to customers, suppliers, team members, and other business units
Development activities will be managed using 6 Sigma tools and processes
Requirements:
Minimum of a bachelor degree in engineering or equivalent technical degree
Strong engineering expertise with some diesel engine technology, electronics and engine control systems as well as experimental R&D experience
Some experience of planning engine test programs, engine test cell experience, engine electronic prototype hardware (RPAC/XPC)
Familiarity with Matlab/Simulink, engine test data analysis required
Must be self-motivated, have good hands-on (practical) skills and have strong technical problem solving, communication and planning skills
