Description
A position for an Electronic Engineer has opened for the right candidate to join a market leader in controllers and accessories for battery powered vehicles. We have increased the size and strength of the engineering group over the last few years but need to further strengthen the R&D team.
New team members will need to be experienced engineers, the required level of experience depends on the particular job. Engineers will be involved with product development from initial concepts through to volume production. They must have the ability to analyse problems from first principles and come up with innovative and cost effective solutions. They must work well as part of a team but also be capable of working on their own to a specification and produce work meeting the company quality requirements
Role
Lead engineer for circuit design.
Design and development of power electronic controls including power supplies
and motor controllers.
Product design from concept to production.
Assist senior managers in defining the company technology roadmap.
Work with project managers to ensure timely delivery of products to market.
Main power circuit design.
Device selection.
Gate drive design.
Current feedback design.
Supervise engineers and technicians.
Work to company quality standards
Must have experience and skills
Design and development experience using power MOSFETs or IGBTs.
Design and development of power electronics at voltages up to 1000V and up to
1000A.
Design and test of power electronic products to meet EMC standards.
Thermal design of electronic equipment rated at >100W.
Familiar with requirements of UL and CE marking.
Desirable experience and skills
Variable speed motor drives.
Design of off line mains voltage switching power supplies.
Current measurement.
Driver circuits.
Protection circuits.
Precision analogue circuits.
Microprocessor control.
Employment includes £35,000 £45,000 a 37 hour week, early finish on Fridays, 25 days per year paid holiday and a company final salary pension scheme.
