Electronic Design Engineer - Analog BSc 2:1 BSc 1st
An electronic engineer with VHDL experience is required to design and manufacture advanced sonar equipment for use in a wide variety of marine applications. Candidates will be qualified to degree level having obtained a II(1) or better and should be highly motivated. Previous experience of sonar systems is not essential, you need VHDL experience and several of the following:
* Analog design
* Low noise, high gain circuits
* Digital Design
* Xilinx series FPGAs
* PIC design and programming
* Digital Signal Processing
* Digital beamforming
* Digital filter Implementation
* Communications
* RS232 / 422
* Ethernet
* General
* Schematic capture and PCB layout (SRD currently use Protel)
* Acoustics
* C++ software development
Applicants do not need to have experience in all of these areas however will require enthusiasm and a willingness to broaden their knowledge where required.
The position will be primarily office based however successful candidates will have the opportunity for occasional worldwide travel for product field testing and commissioning.
This is an exciting and fast moving field and we are a dynamic company that provide specialist survey services and systems for use by our clients. Typical applications range from oil and gas related operations in the North Sea through to diamond mining visualisation systems off the coasts of South Africa and Namibia.
