We have an exciting opportunity for a Electrical Engineer, specialising in generator protection control and instrumentation systems.
You will be responsible for design of generator control and protection panels, equipment panels for power management systems and specification of generator excitation systems and generator auxiliary equipment such as instrumentation transformers and grounding systems.
The ability to understand and work to relevant national and international standards and customer technical specifications is essential. Experience in the design and manufacture of electrical equipment / control panels is essential including experience of equipment up to 13.8kV. Knowledge of software based control systems, PLCs and SCADA systems would be valuable. Experience with Eplan would also be useful, as would knowledge of Generator excitation systems, and electrical control and instrumentation engineering of power generation equipment including generator terminal cubicles.
Candidates should have good written and oral skills and should be able to demonstrate an ability to work effectively as part of an engineering team.
Awareness of commercial issues and an understanding of market led product development issues is essential.
