ELECTRICAL ENGINEER
GENERATOR PROTECTION, CONTROL AND INSTRUMENTATION
LOUGHBOROUGH
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Loughborough based Controls Department and to be responsible for design of generator control and protection panels, equipment panels for power management systems and specification of generator excitation systems and generator auxiliary equipment such as instrumentation transformers and grounding systems.
As Electrical Engineer, experience in the design and manufacture of electrical equipment / control panels is essential including experience of equipment up to 13.8kV. You should also be able to understand and work to relevant national and international standards and customer technical specifications is essential.
Knowledge of software based control systems, PLCs and SCADA systems would be valuable. Experience with Eplan would also be useful.
To succeed as Electrical Engineer you must hold a degree or HNC in electrical engineering and should ideally have achieved or be working towards chartered engineer status. You should have good written and oral skills and should be able to demonstrate an ability to work effectively as part of an engineering team. Awareness of commercial issues is essential.
The position will be based in Loughborough but occasional brief periods of work may be required at the companys sites in continental Europe or on customers sites which may be overseas or offshore.
