Our client one of the world's leading engineering and plant building companies for the international metals industry is currently have a position for an Electrical Engineer.
Role
This involves responsibility for the specification of Electrical equipment, control systems and Instrumentation for Plate and Steckel Rolling Mills for clients both in the UK and overseas.
Tasks
• Technical responsibility for the Electrical engineering on allocated projects, including technical enquiry and order documentation, calculations, drawings, and manuals etc.
• Ensuring the design and manufacture of the electrical equipment is carried out to the required standards, time scales and budget.
• Provide technical support as required for the installation and commissioning of the equipment from either the office or on site.
• Preparing proposals for the electrical content pre-projects
• To provide all necessary assistance to other disciplines within the project/pre project team
Education / Knowledge
• A degree in Electrical engineering or an appropriate engineering design discipline together with good communication skills is desirable along with technical knowledge and commercial awareness.
• Alongside good IT skills, a working knowledge of the Company CAD Systems and a knowledge of the Microsoft suite of programmes the successful candidate should have experience in electrical / instrumentation / automation system design.
Experience
• Ideally several years experience of handling the electrical engineering aspects of rolling mills in particular and capital projects in general.
• A self motivated individual capable of motivating others and who is able to work in a close team environment are further assets required for this position.
