Our client specialises in the design, manufacture and supply of electronic/electrical products and sub systems. The business is entering into an exciting phase with record order intake, new innovation, product development and they are now looking to recruit an Electrical Design Engineer.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, as the Electrical Design Engineer you will join their dedicated project team that is challenged with the task of delivering robust and cost effective power systems and installations, either for the defence power or transit power sections of the engineering department.
In this role you will be responsible for a wide range of engineering activities covering all stages of a project from bid to delivery. Working closely with other team members and sub contractors, you will plan and carry out your activities to develop technical solutions, which successfully meet with the overall objectives of your project.
This could involve design of:
- ac/dc switchboards 33kv, 11kv
- dc switchboards 1500Vdc, 750 Vdc
- Battery chargers
- LV panels/switchboards
- Transformers
- Rectifiers
- Circuit breakers
- Switchgear
To succeed as the Electrical Design Engineer you must have the following:
- previous experience of electrical design, ideally designing power systems
- a degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering
- competency in computer based engineering tools
Additionally, you will need to be a motivated self starter who is capable of acting as a technical lead on engineering projects. You should also have excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
