Our client is looking for an experienced Electrical Design engineer, ideally with experience of Heat Tracing, to join their North East based Engineering team.
To establish project technical requirements through interpretation of specifications and other technical documentation (both TTC and Client generated documents)
To design power and control solutions that satisfy these project requirements
Ensure all bought out equipment (panels, transformers, cables and control/monitoring equipment) associated with projects is correctly specified
Complete Technical Bid Analysis (TBA) for bought out equipment, and lead technical discussions with vendors as appropriate
Check and approve vendor design documents, ensuring they meet project requirements and TTC standards
Generate equipment and system level test and commissioning documentation
Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) at vendors works, ensuring that equipment is build and tested to the appropriate standards and documents
Carry out on-site test and commissioning of power and control systems once on-site installation is complete
Represent the client in engineering design discussions with, for example, Clients and sub-contractors
Assist in the development of new (and modifications to existing) engineering software/techniques that will enhance the service provided to our clients.
Participate in development and improvement initiatives, and undertake internal and external training and product awareness.
EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Required:
Applicants should be qualified to Degree standard in an Electrical Engineering discipline
Proven design experience within a process, oil and gas, or petrochem environment (previous knowledge of heat tracing would be advantageous)
Experience in the specifying, design, and testing of electrical control panels, power transformers and LV power distribution systems (including hazardous area applications)
IEE 16th or 17th Edition Certification
COMPEX certification
