E-Commerce Manager

Abcam is a rapidly growing business, specialising in the production and sale of antibodies and related products. We are a web-based business, with offices in Cambridge, UK, Cambridge, USA and Tokyo, Japan.
The e-Commerce Manager will lead the e-Commerce team and take responsibility for specification and implementation of initiatives that enhance our website and the marketing email programme, extend our presence in the search engine space and optimise website traffic through various referral channels.
Duties will include
•Develop, communicate and monitor implementation against an effective e-Commerce strategy based around website, email, search engines and referrals.
•Working with Marketing to ensure that all aspects of Abcam's website and electronic marketing are consistent with the overall marketing strategy, core value proposition and key communications messages.
•To lead and implement design enhancements to the website and continuously improve its user friendliness' including conducting tests with customers/end-user groups to gauge website usability.
•To monitor and increase the volume of referral traffic from relevant third-party websites, including calculating the benefit of paid advertising.
•To monitor and optimise performance of website on key search engines, regionally and globally.
Ideal candidates will have:
-A degree or equivalent in a life science, marketing or other related subject
-Proven experience within developing or significantly influencing e-Marketing /e-Commerce strategy along with experience of web analytics.
-Great communications skills with the ability to influence and work effectively as part of a team is also essential.
Salary: £28000 - £35000 (dependant on experience) plus an attractive flexible benefits package which includes a profit-share scheme and share options.
